Widowed and with a failing memory, Krisofer desperately wishes to reconnect with his first love Miko, who disappeared 50 years ago. After dropping out of his London university in the 1960s, the idealistic young Icelander took work as a dishwasher in a Japanese restaurant owned by Miko’s father. The two young people fell in love, leaving Kristofer heart-broken and confused when, returning from a break, he found the restaurant closed with no explanation—just his final pay cheque. Now, he is advised by his doctor to resolve any unfinished business. His journey is interspersed with flashbacks from ‘60s London in which we see a young Kristofer (Palmi Kormakur) and Miko (Koki) play out their clandestine love affair. In the words of one reviewer, ‘unashamedly romantic.’
