Mrs Harris Goes To Paris

11 March : 3 pm & 7 pm
116 Mins | UK | Drama/Comedy |

VENUE: MALENY COMMUNITY CENTRE
23 MAPLE STREET MALENY

A light-hearted romp adapted from the popular book by Paul Gallico, the movie follows the adventures of Mrs Harris, a London war widow in the late 1950s, who escapes the drudgery of her life as a cleaner to pursue her dream of owning a Dior dress. After overcoming many obstacles, she does make it to Paris and obtains one of the dresses (all of which are outstanding works of art), but there are more adventures to come. The movie is beautifully filmed, and Lesley Manville gives an outstanding performance as Mrs Harris. Of course it is all a fairy tale, but who doesn’t need one occasionally, and audiences have been charmed by the film the world over.
