‘Poignantly exploring a nation’s upheaval through one family’s search for answers,’ I’m Still Here opens in 1970 in Rio de Janeiro when we meet Eunice, her husband, Rubens, a former congressman, and their five children in a beachfront home full of friends and laughter. This changes when men with guns arrive at the door and take Rubens away. Who they are and where he has been taken remain a mystery. Directed by Walter Salles (The Motorcycle Diaries), I’m Still Here has received overwhelming international acclaim with special praise for Fernanda Torres’ performance as Eunice. It is the first Brazilian film to receive an Academy Award for Best International Feature Film and Fernanda Torres is the first Brazilian actress to win a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a motion picture.
