This sweet, amusing and occasionally sharp film is a most delightful surprise.

Disgraced weatherman Chris Masterman becomes stranded on his way to Broome, and rescues a joey orphaned by the side of the road. He meets 12-year-old Charlie who has recently moved to the small town and is missing her former home. The two form an unlikely friendship and end up rescuing and rehabilitating other joeys, changing both their lives in the process, and founding a joey rehabilitation centre. There are plenty of comic moments in this heart-warming family movie which showcases the Australian outback, and the resilience of those living there. With stunning landscape, lots of laughs, and cute joeys, what’s not to like?
